This image was painted as part of the Tracy Verdugo Story Painting course. I can’t remember what the instructions were but I ended up using as inspiration, the truth I learned in my twenties, from the Lebanese poet, Khallil Gibran. At that age “Your children are not your children” is a cry of freedom, isn’t it?
How different, in my later years, to see my two deeply loved children, stepping off independently into their lives. This mishmash of images comes from the only time we were together in 2020, in early September in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Of course, they also remind me of the Start-Rite kids.
